Well we at Watchmen, obviously were going nuts over the teasers and every single behind-the-scene video we could get! We saw it a day after it premiered and let's just be honest about it:
It's FUN, ENTERTAINING, SPECTACULAR and we PRAISE Andy Serkis for his extraordinary performance. I mean seriously kudos to award winning Weta Digital for really pushing once again the boundaries set up that little indie movie called 'Avatar' (just kidding :) but here we could really see the various range emotions of Caesar.
Plus not to mention that the character of Caesar carries the movies all by himself and that leads us to the not so good-part about our review: the casting and the pacing of the length of the story.
James as cute as you are, you didn't deliver any emotional sparks there considering the fact that your character's father is suffering from Alzheimer, at some point I felt that the CGI ape was even more concerned about John's character condition than you were. Frida Pinto, well let just say she was there and she was pretty. It's FUN, ENTERTAINING, SPECTACULAR and we PRAISE Andy Serkis for his extraordinary performance. Our good surprises : John Lithgow and Tom Felton are our little bonuses on Rise since both of them in spite of overplaying delivered something believable and tasteful performance! For those who may have missed it (really !!!) a little teaser:
